Uncomplicating a Pro Boxing Coach's Digital Presence
Running costs down 60 per cent, traffic up 17 per cent month on month, and class bookings coming in online.

The challenge
The Boxing Shop has run in Salisbury, in Brisbane's south, since 2007. Founder Gareth Williams and co-director Shara Romer were running two businesses, a boxing gym and a boxing equipment store, alongside Boxing Beyond Barriers, a boxing program for young people delivered through schools.
In February 2026 each of the three had its own web presence, and none of them was working. The equipment store was on Shopify, but it had no domain of its own and received no traffic. The gym had a placeholder site, with class bookings running through Momence. Boxing Beyond Barriers had a dated WordPress site with no booking form.
That meant several things to pay for and update, and no single place for a customer, a parent or a school to find everything. Any links and search history the business had earned were also split between the separate sites.
The strategy
Consolidate everything into one website, and make it easy for each type of customer to find what they came for. One site also lets each part of the business send customers to the others, so a gym member sees the equipment store and a school that finds Boxing Beyond Barriers sees the gym. Gareth's team should be able to run the site without a developer.
The work
We chose the Shopify store to be the hub of the business. We added the primary domain, so the store finally had its own address, and built the new site between 24 February and 7 April 2026.
We designed the homepage around the gym, with introductory training offers, class bookings and the special programs up front. From there, the homepage sends visitors on to the equipment pages, so gym customers see what the store sells.
We connected the classes page to Momence, which the gym already used, so people can check the timetable and book from the website. We added expression of interest forms for the special programs: the six-week fight camp, the women's beginner and bootcamp programs, the in-house tournament and the under-12 grading days.
We moved Boxing Beyond Barriers to its own page on the new site and added a schools enquiry form. Every address on the program's old domain now redirects to that page, which we finished with the client's domain provider on 1 June 2026. We also closed the gym's placeholder site.
We set the site up for search from launch. We wrote titles and descriptions for every page, rewrote the collection headings and descriptions, fixed duplicate product pages, and added LocalBusiness and FAQ structured data.

Where it landed
The business now has one website to pay for, one place to update and one address that every old link leads to. Class bookings come in through the website.

FAQ
Can you combine several websites into one?
Yes. We map every page on the old sites, decide where each one belongs on the new site and redirect every old address to its new home. The Boxing Shop went from separate sites for its gym, its store and its community program to one Shopify website.
Will closing old websites hurt our Google rankings?
Not if every old address is redirected properly. Rankings drop when old pages vanish or all point to the homepage. For The Boxing Shop we redirected each old page individually, and Google clicks rose 31.6 per cent in the four weeks to 26 May 2026.
Can a Shopify website take class bookings?
Yes. Shopify works alongside dedicated booking systems, so customers can see the timetable and book from your website. The Boxing Shop's classes page connects to the booking system the gym already used, so nothing changed for the staff.
